SETTING THE FOUNDATION AS A NEW HEAD COACH: PhD Hoops Virtual Coaches Roundtable

WHO: Any basketball coach (male or female) in the profession who wants to share and learn from others on this general topic.

WHATA 90-minute roundtable discussion/conversation among coaches of different ages, perspectives, stages of coaching careers, and backgrounds. The intent is for everyone to be involved, share knowledge, provide each other with new ideas, and become better coaches. We will split into smaller groups and go through a series of subtopics to give opportunity for deeper discussions. Be an active participant and have your notebook ready!

Coach Mike Blaine (Head Coach at Plattsburgh State) will share his thoughts before breaking into small groups.

Areas of discussion will include setting the tone of your program, putting in place the things that are important to you, hiring a staff, recruiting (if applicable), community excitment, establshing your timeline of events, choosing X&O's, etc.

WHEN: Friday, June 12, 2020 from 12:00-1:30 pm (Eastern Time)

WHERE: Online via Zoom (the Zoom meeting URL, ID, and password will be emailed to you the evening before)

COST: FREE to the first 100 coaches who register!
